Choose how long dictation history is kept, decide about crash reports, and delete what Blabb holds about you.

Keep dictation history#
How long a dictation stays in the History window before Blabb removes it. The default is 1 week, which is long enough to find yesterday's paragraph and short enough that nothing accumulates for years.
Don't save history means no history at all. Nothing is written, so nothing can be read back — including by you. The History window has nothing to show. That is the point of it, and it is the right setting if you dictate things that should not sit on disk.
Forever keeps everything until you delete it yourself.

Crash reports#
Off by default. Turn it on and Blabb sends a report when it crashes, which helps get the crash fixed.
What a report contains: what the app was doing when it fell over, and where in the code it happened. Sensitive strings — file paths, email addresses, identifiers — are scrubbed before anything is sent.
What it does not contain: no voice, and no dictated text. Not a snippet, not a transcript. The audio never leaves the PC in any circumstance, and neither does what it was turned into.

Delete Blabb data#
Removes what Blabb holds about you on this PC: your dictation history, your saved words, and the logs. It confirms first.
Three things it deliberately keeps:
- Your settings. Wiping your words is not a reason to lose your shortcut and your cleanup style.
- Your licence. Deleting your words should not sign you out and leave you unable to dictate.
- The integrity audit log. A tamper-evident record of security-relevant actions, kept as a legal obligation. The deletion itself is written into it. It holds no dictated text.
That is a decision, not an oversight. If you want the settings gone too, Reset all settings on the General page does that half.
Warning
Deletion is immediate and there is no undo. The Ctrl+Z that puts back a single deleted history entry does not apply here.
